Throughout her career, Könitz has made sculptures in relation to the conventions and circumstances of our built environment. In recent years, she has also incorporated elemental, natural phenomena into her work. In this series, stones are inlaid on wooden panels, referencing notions of commemoration, value, and Samuel Beckett’s “sucking stones.”
